Jesus Is The Light

The book of John makes some remarkable statements.  This books gives us revelation on our relationship with the Father and Jesus himself.  John says, "I am not that light, but I have come to bear witness to that light (Jesus Christ), and that light has appeared to all men.  But as many as receive Him, to them God gives the power to become the sons of God."  John chapter 1.  The key to faith and life is "receiving".  Jesus struggled all through this book to get the religious leaders to "receive".  Yet they continually rejected God's revelation.  It was the broken, hurting, hungry, sick and demon possessed that received.  It was those that Jesus called "poor in spirit" and opened their hearts. It is still the same today.
